Our own "In House" R&D Department develop new materials and processes for the whole range of products that EFI manufacture.

R&D at EFI is carried out by a team of highly qualified "Materials and Engineering" scientists. In recent years our team has been responsible for developing materials to meet Regulation 90 in the field of motorcycle, passenger and commercial vehicles. New developments in the areas of industrial vehicles and light transit, passenger and freight trains have also resulted in successful new business.

Our test equipment used, is of the highest standard enabling both development of materials using application specific simulations and conformity of production to the highest ISO, European and Global standards.

Dynamometers cover the whole application range of EFI's products from motorcycle to trains. The largest dynomometer can test both rail and commercial vehicles to any schedule in the world. Our equipment is approved for Regulations testing by the U.K Governments Vehicle Certification Agency.
